Matt makes things happen. From assessing a block you might have your eye on, to arranging finance and helping you pick the perfect house design, he’ll listen carefully to what you want and help you get it. Geraldton born and bred, Matt worked in the snow-sports industry before focusing on a career in home building. Over the years, the qualified draftsman has gained experience in estimating, scheduling, maintenance, prestart and sales, as well as on-site experience in roof framing. The result is an impressive skill set that enables him to balance design creativity with practical considerations. Just guessing is not an option.
Got a question about building trends, the current economic climate or pressing regional issues? Aaron knows what the hot topics are and makes sure he has the latest information at his fingertips. He’ll not only ask you what you want when it comes to your new home – he’ll listen carefully to the answers, too.
Chief Executive Officer
Anticipating the unanticipated, setting our business’s ‘integrity compass’ and spearheading change. These are just some of the tasks that Tony, our CEO, lists in his job description. A firm believer that the modern business requires change – and lots of it – Tony started at Plunkett in 1985 as assistant accountant, becoming our Chief Executive Officer in 2000. Over the years, he’s overseen the launch of the Domain by Plunkett brand, driven our expansion into Geraldton and Albany, led the introduction of steel roof systems, framed housing and new technology, and managed the arrival of computer-aided drawing, GST and social media to name but a few. An advocate of the open-door management policy, even if it does mean numerous unscheduled interruptions to his day, the former President of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) says there’s never a dull moment. He expects more change is on the cards as Plunkett continues to meet the ever-evolving demands of today’s homebuyers.
A former exploration driller working around Western Australia, Phil arrived in the Mid West more than 25 years ago after meeting his wife, who is from Geraldton. Not only does he love our weather and our lifestyle, but he also loves the people here and that’s why he wants to make sure we deliver the best building experience we can. Proud to call himself a ‘people person’, Phil helps clients from all walks of life build their new home
Brad is a problem solver. It’s his job to make sure things run smoothly on site and that means he needs to pay attention to the smallest of details. And when there is a hiccup, he and his team need to respond with a solution that’s both efficient and cost-effective. What’s more, he needs to let you know the facts so that you can be confident your build is progressing as quickly as possible. Brad, who has lived in Geraldton most of his life, is also responsible for arranging to fix up any issues that might crop up during the maintenance period on your new home. It gives you peace of mind long after we’ve handed over the keys.
Michael’s primary task as our Operations Manager may be dealing with suppliers and sub-contractors to secure the best prices and products for our clients, but rest assured he also knows all the ins and outs of construction. Bringing extensive experience in both residential and commercial building to our team, Michael is also one of our construction supervisors. Starting out back in the day as a carpenter, he then became a site foreman and then a construction supervisor for a large commercial construction company in Perth. In 2008, he upped sticks and headed north to work for a Geraldton-based commercial building firm before joining us at Plunkett 4 years later. Proud to use local trades and services, Mick lives with his 3 young sons and wife in Dongara, “away from the urban sprawl”, where he loves the relaxed lifestyle and enjoys being part of a small, friendly community.
