Meet the Adaptable Avalon

Looking for a cost-effective home that you can easily make your own? Meet the cheerfully adaptable Avalon, on display in Karnup.

An inviting three-bedroom design with all the living space a young family could ask for, the Avalon is one of those clever new-home designs that falls into the ‘simple, but smart’ category. And with a starting price of about $195,000, it’s well within many building budgets.

The key to the design’s winning flexibility is the central ‘spine’ that runs through the core of the home. It means that during the design phase, your Domain by Plunkett consultant can effectively ‘slide’ either of the two sides of the home up or down so that rooms can easily be added or enlarged. It’s a neat idea that helps clients make cost-effective changes to suit their individual needs.

That said though, there’s every chance the Avalon is already a perfect fit. With its large free-form living area, central kitchen and scullery, home theatre, alfresco, rear master suite and well-zoned kids’ wing to the front, it’s proving popular with a wide variety of buyers.

What’s more, the elevation – with its rendered walls and contrasting blade wall in ‘restoration red’ brick – has been designed to drop easily into most, if not all, new estates.

Dave Clynk, Design Manager for Domain by Plunkett, describes the Avalon as a “flexible, cost-effective gem of a home” that can easily be tweaked should you need to.

“We’ve done all the thinking so that the Avalon not only already complies with the majority of design guidelines in Perth’s new estates, but it also has a fantastic family-friendly layout,” Dave says.

The added bonus is that the Avalon is part of a range of adaptable designs so that you can also easily interchange several of the components.

“If you prefer the kitchen or master suite layout from one of the other plans, for example, you can easily swap it over,” Dave says.

As displayed, the kitchen in the Avalon leads into a generous scullery, which flows on through to the laundry.

“This a very popular layout,” Dave says. “Buyers like having these key areas together.”

The Avalon’s rear master suite is also proving a hit, especially as it leads out through double sliding doors to a private outdoor area. For an added sense of resort-inspired styling, there’s a sizeable ensuite with double vanities and a good-sized shower.

Dressed to impress with a hint of Moroccan spice, including burnt orange and cerise pink accents, the Avalon as displayed will sit comfortably on a 13.5m-wide block.

On Cerulean Road in Karnup, this family-friendly home is open to view 2pm-5pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 1pm-5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
